Santa’s Barbara’s Parks and Recreation Department is looking for a Marketing and Outreach Assistant. Reporting to the Department’s Marketing Coordinator, we are looking for a dynamic specialist who enjoys assisting with a variety of marketing and outreach tasks including:

• Website content management and assisting with website content build-outs for department programs and services
• Developing press releases, e-newsletters, and other written communications
• Digital asset management
• Developing graphic media including flyers and signage for parks and facilities
• Assisting with social media creation including drafting social copy, brainstorming and developing evergreen content, researching hashtags, and developing templates for general updates

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a consistent, part-time schedule, enjoys marketing and communications work, and is passionate about Santa Barbara’s parks, open spaces, urban forests, and our many recreational opportunities.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of marketing, communication, and outreach experience and is available to work approximately 10-20 hours per week during regular, business hours. Spanish language fluency is a plus though not required.
