Job description
We are looking for an experienced outboard engine mechanic with Evinrude, Mercury and Yamaha engine service, repair, and installation experience for our Orange Beach location.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and repairing marine outboard motors
- Providing routine service and maintenance
- Execute work orders to customer specification
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and receipt of parts and materials acquisition/return.
Qualifications include:
- Experience in outboard repair, service and installation equal to 3+ years
- Great troubleshooting skills
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Manufacturer certification or training is a plus
You will receive ongoing dealer training to further your knowledge. Company uniforms are provided. A valid drivers license is required and must provide your own tools.
Saunders Marine Center in Orange Beach includes a boatyard with a 60 ton Travelift. We provide below waterline services and have vessel crafts subcontractors on site. The ship store is a very active with over-the-counter parts sales customers. The addition of outboard services and repower allows us to attract more recreational vessels up to 50’.
Our yard is the sister facility to Saunders Yachtworks Gulf Shores, home of our 150-ton Travelift, which is the largest on the Gulf Coast. Founded in Mobile, Ala., in 1959, Saunders has many years of experience in marine engine service and boatyard operations. Saunders Yachtworks in Gulf Shores, Alabama is the premier full-service boatyard on the Northern Gulf Coast. Our 150-ton Travelift attracts customers from Florida to Chicago to the Texas coast. Services include all aspects of vessel refit and repair including authorized diesel engine dealerships in-house.
