Job Description

This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordination of all plannable maintenance work performed within the facility, as well as improving and ensuring the integrity of inventory and work order planning and scheduling.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reviews all work requests, develops scope of work, and inspects job location to determine job requirements.
  • Estimate the craft, labor hours, manpower, parts, materials, equipment and special tools required to complete the job in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Gathers relevant technical documentation such as drawings, schematics, specifications, spare parts lists from equipment histories, OEM manuals and the Knowledge base system. Verifies the availability of part or orders parts prior to scheduling the job. Arrange for special tools and auxiliary equipment.
  • Opens Work Orders within MP2 and updates all applicable information.
  • Conducts / leads periodic planning & scheduling meetings with production to determine work order priorities and communicate work order status, necessity of altering schedules, tracks, and records maintenance conformance to schedule.
  • Improve on the work order planning and scheduling process through the review and use of the maintenance metrics.
  • Coordinate timely and safe completion of all maintenance work orders performed by outside contractors.
  • Oversees the integrity of inventory and restocking of items in inventory. Manages spare part inventory.
  • Processes repairs for stock; puts away stock; timestamps repair parts; pulls parts; delivers component parts to technicians for repairs.
  • Controls inventory and material from vendors keeping within established department budget; evaluates and sets stock levels and reorder levels for effective inventory management.
  • Processes and fulfills requisitions; monitors stock levels and parts; enters order and stocking data in tracking program; receives purchase orders and stocks items; checks on status of orders expedites late material orders.
  • Maintains cross-reference system for optimal usage; tracks and updates nonconforming parts.
  • Assist with inventory problem resolution; oversees the integrity of inventory and resolves discrepancies; participates in all physical inventories; works with Accounting and auditors to assure accuracy.
  • Controls inventory and material from vendors keeping within established department budget.
  • Sources and evaluates vendors who can supply various services or components within a specific time frame. May spend extensive time researching difficult to find and expensive parts or materials.
  • Recommends the reduction and/or transfer of slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
  • Establishes and maintains an aggressive cost reduction program, reporting results to department management.
  • Places claim with OEM’s to replace defective parts under warranty.
  • May maintain standards and processes manuals, manages inventory process.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required, bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years manufacturing/maintenance experience.
  • Adequate craft knowledge to estimate labor hours and materials and to visualize the job to be performed.
  • Good oral/written communication skills and possession of tact.
  • Good administrative and mathematical skills with willingness to handle paperwork.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand what constitutes good instructions.
  • Understanding of the proper use of work orders, priorities; scheduling, etc.
  • Orientation and commitment to customer service.

  • This job will be performed at Coca-Cola Bottling of Hawaii’s Honolulu facility.
