A little about this position:
  • The Maintenance Manager reports directly to the Property & Facilities Manager.
  • The Maintenance Manager runs maintenance operations, and oversees maintenance employees, maintenance requests, room repairs/upgrades, and coordinating with the Property & Facilities Manager to discuss the maintenance budget needs.
  • The Maintenance Manager will arrange for routine maintenance in hotel rooms.
  • The Maintenance Manager has the ability to develop the scope of work, negotiate vendor contracts and implement them. He or she assists the Property & Facilities Manager in achieving guest, employee, and financial goals.
  • The Maintenance Manager will plan, organize, and coordinate the work of the maintenance department staff including scheduling, implement The Mammoth Way, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • The Maintenance Manager will be the (a) on-call MOD of maintenance and (b) acting MOD of Property & Facilities Management if and/or when the Property & Facilities Manager is off.
  • The Maintenance Manager should be a team player demonstrating excellent leadership skills.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years trade school in building maintenance or equivalent experience.
  • Good written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to professionally communicate and interact with all levels of management, homeowners, and staff.
  • Proficiency in standard operating systems.
  • Must have high levels of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to solve problems using common sense and hotel policy.
  • Strong working knowledge of business software with emphasis on MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be flexible and able to work in variable weather conditions.
  • Ability to interpret readings from meters & gauges, and other measuring units.
  • Ability to focus attention on details, speed, and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and understand test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals.
  • Perform maintenance activities in the guest rooms such as plunging toilets, unclogging drains, and repairing all types of hardware and electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners / HVAC, and AC ducts.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment throughout the hotel.
  • Ensure one’s uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Operate as an independent mechanic by analyzing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources while ensuring a high degree of quality.
  • Be available for emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect guests and associates while preserving the building and its systems during emergencies.
  • Monitor Fire Alarm / Life and Safety Systems as necessary and remain fully informed of the system operation while and to handle emergencies involving the systems.
Pay: $64,480 - $80,620 per year
