Machine Operator

Reporting line(s) Reports to: Production Foreman

The Machine Operator is responsible for:

• Preparing metal tubes, bars, and other materials and staging them for the next step in the operation (which is welding)
• Entry-level usage of equipment, including a bandsaw, tube cutters, deburring machines, resizing dies, metal benders, tube perforators, robotic cutting machines, tube benders, CNC machines, and more
• Measuring, cutting, deburring, and staging of raw materials, following AWE manufacturing processes, fixtures, and instructions
• Executing all work with precision, adhering to time and quality standards, with minimal scrap
• Performing daily TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) reviews for all assigned equipment, including keeping machines and work areas clean
• Providing input and ideas for continuous improvement in process, equipment, tools, and more
• Adhering to AWE’s core values
• Time tracking, clocking in and out of jobs as directed
• Other duties as assigned

Accountabilities

The success of the role will be based upon a mix of:

• Becoming proficient with AWE’s planning tools
• Completion of training to initial level I targets
• Quality, volume, and accuracy of work, as measured by supervisor
• Adherence to the employee handbook and company policies

Qualifications:

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• 0 – 2 years of metal fabrication experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.95 - $21.62 per hour
