About us

The Health Hut is a non-profit organization whose mission is to serve the medical needs for the uninsured and Medicaid adult population of Lincoln Parish. The Health Hut operates out of a physical location in Ruston, but also has a mobile unit. The mobile unit travels to Grambling, Simsboro, and Dubach to ensure that all residents of Lincoln Parish have access to primary health care.

Our medical office is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to work directly with our medical and administrative staff. The primary function of the Licensed Practical Nurse is to render direct and indirect nursing care to patients by performing a variety of basic medical, nursing tasks and procedures. A successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual in Spanish is a BONUS!! The Health Hut is open from Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with physicians and health care providers.
• Prepare patients for treatment or examination.
• Follow doctors' instructions and direct patient care activities.
• Record vital signs and health information.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Confer with other health care providers regarding patient care.
• Follow infection control procedures.
• Adhere to all HIPAA and company policies and procedures

Skills & Qualifications

• Licensure from an accredited school
• Current BLS or ALCS certification
• Strong communication skills
• Clinical skills
• Exceptional time management skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.75 per hour
