Job Purpose
This position supports the EnerSys Operating System (EOS) transformation efforts. This position implements and supports actions that bring about improvements to operations and processes which may include, but are not limited to, safety, quality, delivery, cycle time, and inventory levels.
Projects will be integrated with the region / plants lean deployment efforts and meet the guidelines, criteria and metrics established by the business.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience.
- Successful demonstration of Lean thinking and teamwork.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree, or equivalent experience in a process improvement function at a manufacturing facility or distribution center.
- Practical and theoretical experience and knowledge implementing lean manufacturing tools: Total Productive Maintenance (TPM); SMED, Heijunka, and Kanban (CCF Principles); Line Side Storage, Purchase Parts Market, WIP Supermarket and Milk Runs (MMF Principles).
- Strong Project Management skills to determine plans, follow them and ensure the success of the local projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned or requested.
Executing against short-term objectives to support EOS goals.
- Assisting in the change of systems/processes as required in support of the EOS initiatives.
- Learn value stream mapping techniques to actively participate on teams that develop optimal information, material, and production flow methods.
- Act as a change agent to bring about improvements in process through the active support and participation of Rapid Improvement Events; includes:
- Participating in facilitating projects/events.
- Train co-workers on standard work including off shift training.
- Help update and maintain visual performance tools, including mission control and MDI boards.
- Under guidance of EOS Manager or EOS Value Stream manager, conduct cycle time analysis, work balance/flow improvements, work place analysis and improvement.
- Regular in person attendance with on time arrival/departure. Required to work irregular hours on short notice. Punctuality and dependability are a job requirement.
- Lead local improvement projects and effectively coordinate these projects with the EOS Manager.
- Contribute to the Local deployment of the EnerSys Operating System (EOS).
