About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Small Business Underwriter.

In this role, you will:
  • Provide oversight support for Delegated Credit Approval Authority (DCAA) activites across all Small Business Underwriting products.
  • Prepare formal management reports and presentations.
  • Review complex consumer requests, related to decisions, products and process, examining transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Review all supporting documentation, and research information to analyze Small Business Underwriter's credit decisions to ensure decisions meet company standards and provide feedback to leadership.
  • Serve as technical resource on difficult problems and questions or handling escalated calls
  • Make decisions in complex situations and escalation requests requiring solid understanding of Small Business, Risk, Compliance and Underwriting policy that influence and lead Credit and Loan Approval to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, managers, internal and external partners, and more experienced managers to resolve complex underwriting issues and achieve small business goals
  • Lead projects, teams and serve as a mentor.
  • Interact and present to various levels of leadership on complex topics.
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 5+ years of Underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • Experience in Underwriting, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
