Job Title: Laborer – Light Assembly
Department: Manufacturing
Reports to: Area Supervisor
Classification: Non-Exempt
Location: Batavia, IL
Travel: None
Job Summary: The Light Assembly Laborer will work within various manufacturing roles in the plant including, but not limited to, the following: The cleaning and assembly of small components for brazing carbide onto steel tools.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the cleaning of steel components utilizing rubber gloves reaching into a sandblast cabinet
- Wiping components with alcohol.
- Make sure the receiving pocket is the appropriate size and shape for the supplied tip to meet the drawing requirements.
- Dip blanks into liquid flux or paste.
- Place carbide tip in slot ensuring it is centered
- Place upright in tray.
- Ensure the count is correct to record on traveling paperwork and enter into computer system.
- Other duties assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read instructions and communicate in english
Physical Requirements:
- Lightwork that includes lifting up to 40 pounds at a time with some bending, twisting, and squatting when required.
- Prolonged periods of sitting.
- The ability to pick up and place very small components accurately.
