Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
Oversee general lab management, including health and safety and chemical inventory, preparation of gear needed for field work, participation in field work both on shore and at sea, elemental analyses, including stable and radiogenic isotopes, method development, data management, and oversight and support of student workers.
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Marine Science and Chemistry, M.S. in Marine Science or related field. Experience in lab management, health & safety, marine nutrient analyses including spectrophotometric measurements of phosphorus, excel and other data analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree and five years experience in oceanographic related research.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must have experience in laboratory management. Must have expertise in instrumentation and procedures involving nutrient and radioisotope analyses, experience in grant and manuscript writing and submission, and the ability to maintain large data sets.
