General Information

Hitachi Energy is seeking an IT Support Specialist for the Crystal Springs, MS location. We are looking for a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized IT technician to join our growing team. In this position, you will play a key role in keeping factory operations running and working with IT partners on uptime, maintenance schedule and continuous improvement projects. In addition, you will ensure strategic business projects have support for IT needs.

Team Collaboration: Local factory teamwork & Participation in HUB virtual team

  • Locally: Be a support for process engineering & maintenance as related to network, hardware, or machine control issues
  • HUB: Work within a virtual team leading individual projects as well as support work on teammates projects
  • Ability to meet frequently for project updates and team meetings
  • Participate in projects related to all functions within the business

Basic Function: Plan and perform complex semi-technical infrastructure support assignments involving peripheral equipment and programs, with minimal guidance. Recommend and implement measures to improve operations and customer service. Plan, coordinate, and lead team efforts and provide technical guidance to less experienced staff.

Your Responsibilities

Management of facility & factory network, servers, & hardware; liaison to IT vendors to ensure business continuity

  • Troubleshoot issues throughout facility & with remote users along with
  • Printers – manage supplies, provide troubleshooting, & coordinate with technicians
  • Phones – assist end users with setup of mobile devices, including MFA, Wi-Fi, and email along with managing hardware and setup for internal Cisco phones
  • Accounts – manage use & upkeep of shared user accounts
  • Factory PCs – manage deployment of hardware and setup of various types of software
  • Network – assist with adding or modifying network connections & cabling
  • Hardware – assist & manage various cabling and peripherals for user workstations
  • Work with multiple teams on IS & IT needs for integration of new devices & machines
  • Provide documentation of issues, solutions, and potential problems

Install software and hardware, and perform support and maintenance duties, following general instructions. Recommend equipment modifications or improvements to achieve operating efficiencies and ensure customer satisfaction. Requires thorough knowledge of computer support functions, ability to adapt to changes and to develop or modify techniques and procedures. Requires ability to communicate effectively, influence customers and lead a support staff. Requires ability to recognize and resolve complex problems and select alternative measures for cost-effectively achieving desired results. Errors may affect quality of work, cause significant delays, added expenses, and adversely impact customer relations. Collaborate with Business Process team, Process Engineers, Facilities to execute projects. Document business requirements and verify against HUB strategy whether requirements will contribute or hinder strategy. Investigate / prioritize business requirements to define scope and objectives of the projects and prepare schedules, limitations time and desired results. Lead internal testing and coordinate the testing with business champions

Your Background

  • High School diploma and short-term specialized training in computer operations and over 9 years of related experience or a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.

Or

  • Associates degree in related field and 5 or more years of experience.
  • Associates Degree in computer science, information systems or related field required,
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Experience working in Windows environments (registry, startup) Microsoft Office applications, batch files, & windows registry
  • Experience with basic programming logic
  • Clear verbal and written skills
  • Capable of accurately documenting issues & solutions
  • Capable of working both independently and in a team setting
  • Able to learn independently with new software, hardware, and processes
