JOB SUMMARY

Jones Capital is seeking an Investment Performance Analyst to provide analytical support for our growing portfolio of investments. The position will be primarily focused on developing an in-depth understanding of the firm’s alternative investments, including financial performance measures and legal ownership structures, and leverage this knowledge to produce recurring and ad-hoc reporting and analysis utilizing Addepar and other tools. The position will be part of a closely-knit team with exceptional opportunities for development and expansion of responsibilities. The ideal candidate must have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, robust intellectual curiosity, self-motivation, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a demonstrated interest in investing.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage existing and build new reports using tools such as Addepar, Power BI, or Excel that are insightful, clear and tailored for audiences such as internal executives, Accounting, and Tax, as well as external advisors. Implement subsequent enhancements and own ongoing maintenance of adding new attributes/benchmarks, etc. as needed
  • Researching and resolving performance discrepancies, reconciling data, and validating results
  • Reviewing calculation methodologies, researching, and updating as required
  • Focus on continuous improvement to identify and implement needed process enhancements.
  • Lead the onboarding process for new investments or custodians. Responsible for developing an understanding of investment attributes, including legal ownership structures
  • Serve as primary point of contact for administration of existing investments. Responsible for receiving, processing, and tracking events for existing alternative investments, such as new commitments, capital calls, distributions, redemptions, revaluations, and other life cycle events

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record - Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or related field is preferred
  • 1 to 5 years of prior work experience within the finance, consulting, or asset management fields
  • Current understanding (or proven desire to learn) of capital markets, economics, portfolio construction, statistical concepts, and investments
  • Strong work ethic and adherence to Jones’ Core Values
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
  • Experience with Addepar, Solovis, Caissa, or other performance aggregation tools
  • Completion of or progress towards CFA or CAIA
