Summary
The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing plant Instrumentation and Electrical equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining Plant Instrumentation such as temperature, pressure, flow, level measurements, and flow control valves
- Testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining MCC’s, Switchgear, Breakers, VFD’s and Motors
- Use of various test instruments such as DMM’s, Meggers, Process Meters, and Amp Clamps to effectively troubleshoot equipment
- Know and follow all plant Safety Policies
Typical Education
- A certificate of Instrument Tech. training at an accredited university
- And/or hold an electrical journeyman license.
- Or completed 3rd year of electrical apprenticeship with the State of Idaho or a state that has a reciprocal agreement with Idaho.
- And/or a minimum of six years for relevant experience.
Other Information
- Ability to read and interpret plant electrical drawings and P&ID’s
- Experience laying out, sizing, and running conduit, and sizing and pulling cable for replacement and new installs
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team
- Ability to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
