The Instructional Designer supports the training efforts of the ICRM KYC Training Team. The candidate will develop learning materials using a variety of learning methodologies including classroom and web-based; integrate adult learning theory and creativity into all design elements for the creation of an interactive and effective learning experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new course materials, redesign, update, or modify existing content, including gathering content, storyboarding, designing & developing content, reviewing, testing, and publishing.
  • Identify the best ways to illustrate course content by selecting colors, images, typography, and layout while complying with design best practices.
  • Use authoring software to create engaging and interactive e-learning courses, videos, etc.
  • Create supporting material/media such as: “how to” guides, job aids, end-user material, facilitator guides, videos, infographics & simulations.
  • Create exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
  • Identify the best ways to illustrate course content by selecting colors, images, typography, and layout while complying with design best practices.
  • Develop assessment, such as knowledge checks or quizzes, to measure learners’ comprehension and aligning learning objective.
  • Work with subject matter experts to identify training needs and the relevant content.
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders.
  • Conduct train the trainer sessions on how to deliver learning material.
  • Provide and be receptive to feedback.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Must provide portfolio with work samples at time of application
  • Proficient in authoring stools: Storyline, Snagit, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, e.g., Photoshop, etc.
  • Excellent creativity skills to capture learners’ attention
  • Superb design skills: need to know how to bring together lines, color, shape, space, images, and typography to create visually appealing and well-structured courses.
  • Proven design experience using authoring e-learning tools (ability to provide portfolio with work samples)
  • Demonstrated experience incorporating adult learning theory, practices, and methodologies into the creation of training materials used in a business setting
  • Ability to collect and analyze complex content, problem-solve, and make decisions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Flexible with schedule (days/nights) including remote work
  • Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management
  • Able to organize workload and manage multiple projects
  • Detail-oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal direction
  • Fluency in writing/reading/speaking/translating/creating training material in Spanish, or any other second language a plus
  • Minimum 3-4 years of instructional design experience with at least 2 years’ experience in a corporate environment


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Communication or related field is preferred, or a combination thereof; experience in area of focus
  • Master’s degree is a plus
