POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Inside Warehouse team member is responsible for many aspects of moving furniture in the distribution center and making them available for delivery. The purpose of the job is to have furniture available for delivery in rentable condition.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities in general are in the following areas. These may evolve as the business requires.

• Unload furniture from racks following delivery orders and place in proper bays for daily routes; Unloads trucks with furniture returns and place in proper bays.
• Move furniture to loading positions for day’s delivery route.
• Loads trucks for next morning from the proper bays for deliveries.
• Inspect that furniture is in ready to rent condition before loading for a delivery.
• Using order pickers, rack furniture that has been cleaned and prepped and in ready to rent condition.
• Determine when product needs to be repaired, refurbished or reupholstered
• Move furniture to repair areas.
• Make upholstery repairs and other minor repairs on wooden sections of upholstered piece.
• Arrange mattresses and furniture in order for cleaning.
• Clean and sanitize mattress and apply bed bug removal techniques.
• Clean and sanitize upholstered surfaces.
• Shrink wrap clean, dry mattresses an upholstery and mark with monthly sticker to ensure ready to rent status.
• Advise management when mattresses need to be replaced or upholstery is beyond repair.
• Maintain cleaning and repair equipment and complete a monthly inventory on supplies
• Keep cleaning area clean and free of all obstacles that may create a hazardous condition
• Have knowledge of use of forklifts, cherry pickers and like equipment.
• Maintains clear aisles in racks, organization of materials and furniture, as well as cleanliness of work areas in the distribution center.
• Abides by all safety regulations including wearing personal protective equipment as needed and applying safe lifting techniques.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to move up to 100 lbs. of furniture with help
• Certified on fork lift, order pickers or similar equipment, preferred
• Ability to work in warehouse hot and cold temperatures
• Ability to carry, lift, crouch, pull and walk as part of regular work day
• Knowledge of proper furniture moving techniques and uses them daily
