We are looking for an
I&E Technician to join our
Synergy team at our facility in
Kingsland, GA. As an
Instrument & Electrical Technician, you will work as an independent, hands-on technician alongside our Maintenance team and Engineer. Ensuring the electrical, mechanical, and chemical re-refinery equipment and instrumentation are functioning properly and optimally. Performing instrument checks, calibrations, and working with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC); making necessary adjustments. Diagnosing problems in control circuitry and responding to and assisting with requests from the electrical and maintenance departments. Applicable experience in a chemical, paper mill, industrial, or refinery operation would provide a good baseline for what will be needed in this role.

Key Position Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots underperforming and malfunctioning refinery instruments and controls.
- Performs preventative maintenance checks and calibrations using manufacturer’s manuals and electronic testing equipment.
- Maintains accurate maintenance records and logs.
- Ensures parts inventory is sufficient to eliminate unnecessary downtime.
- Installs cabling, power distribution systems, and motor control centers, service and replace motors, and lighting, and perform general electrical maintenance work under the direction of an electrician as necessary.
- Performs on-call work during off-hours as necessary.
What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of industrial experience preferred.
- Proficient in troubleshooting instrumentation/electrical systems and calibrating instruments.
- Ability to read single-line diagrams.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting VFDs.
- 3+ years of refinery/chemical plant/papermill experience preferred (will consider education in lieu of experience).
- Demonstrated proficiency with process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and PLC tools required.
- Electrical license certification would be a plus.
- Must be comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to climb tall ladders.
