Description: This position is responsible for coordinating the daily functions as member of the Human Resources Team. Service teammates and leadership in 2-3 locations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned. A teammate in this position must have the ability to:
  • Manage requisitions and develop appropriate recruitment strategies with hiring managers (i.e.: advertisements, internet).
  • Coordinate and attend career fairs, receive, review, and screen applications and resumes, communicate application status to applicants, and submit pre-employment clearance items.
  • Ensure that the McLane Company employment process is carried out within legal guidelines and that each applicant is treated fairly and consistently.
  • Plan teammate onboarding and perform new employees' orientation to deliver an exceptional early experience.
  • Promote teammate morale through open lines of communication and policy interpretation.
  • Present new benefits, annual enrollment, and policy changes to leaders and teammates.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee data and concerns.
  • Competent in handling different human resources responsibilities and have sufficient professional experience along with strong communication abilities.
  • Coordinate special events such as celebrations to enhance teammate morale.
  • Stay abreast of personnel changes such as promotions, pay changes and transfers and submit accurate information.
  • Support HR Manager as needed.
  • Assist and observe in various training programs in order to comply with McLane Company training practices and federal laws.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

A teammate in this position must:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business or similar discipline.
  • 3+ years' experience in Human Resources.
  • PHR Certification preferred.
  • Understand safety practice guidelines.
  • Have strong MS Office skills including Word and Excel. PowerPoint will be useful; Peoplesoft experience preferred.
  • Identify and work through problems and conflicting issues in a clear and diplomatic manner.
  • Review and interpret data, transactions, policies, and business practices.
  • Work in diverse and fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Office environment.
