Job description
Position Overview:
Works as a patient care sitter for clinical and mental health conditions.
Essential Functions:
Promotes the philosophy and mission of Montrose Memorial Hospital.
Provides oversight to patients who are at risk for fall or could be a danger to themselves or others.
Administers direct patient care under the supervision of professional clinic staff.
Transports patients between departments.
Works as a direct patient caregiver under the supervision of professional clinical staff.
Assists the RN's and LPN's and other professional staff to provide patient care maximizing activities of daily living.
Must be able to care for patients of varying ages, including neonates, newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
Collects data as directed.
Carries out other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Physical Demands: Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods. Fine motor skills. Visual acuity.
Qualifications & Skills:
a) Education: Certification in the State of Colorado following completion of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant course.
b) Training & Experience: Certified Nursing Assistant course. BCLS required on hire.
c) Required to complete a Mental Health first aide course within first 90 days of hire
d) Job Knowledge: Encompasses a range of technical and supportive functions which include communication, problem solving, beginning assessment, and prioritizing skills.
