Holiday Inn & Suites Bloomington-Airport is looking for a uniquely qualified hospitality leader to be our Director of Sales for Bloomington, IL. This is a great opportunity for a sales leader with exceptional sales skills, but it is also the springboard to growth opportunities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Understand Hotel operations including room types, meeting capacities, service and features

· Create and execute annual marketing plan addressing sales strategy and budget goals.

· Responsible for planning and implementing sales efforts for all short and long-range goals

· Set sales strategies to achieve overall property goals for both rate and occupancy

· Work closely with Hotel GM to assist in capturing group business in all segments including corporate, SMERF, and transient business

· Proactive solicitation of new business to achieve revenue goals

· Target accounts, markets, or segments with proactive solicitation and account saturation

· Participate in local networking organizations, community, and industry events while representing the Hotel in a professional manner

· Manage and maintain vendor relations

· Meet monthly revenue goals for both room and catering sales

· Strive for consistent improvement Guest Satisfaction scores to meet or exceed industry standards.

· Lead by example and empowerment with coaching on regular basis.

· Securing new accounts in the deployed market segment.

· Maintaining existing accounts and developing future business.

  • Developing and maintaining good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups, companies, and trade organizations.
  • Ensure that contracts and proposals are sent and followed up on in a timely manner.
  • Solid written and verbal English communication skills to effectively negotiate, persuade, influence, and sell full service and focus service brands are required.

Job Requirements

  • Must have 3 - 5 years of previous experience as a Hotel Director of Sales at branded hotel with a solid performance track record. i,e Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton or IHG preferred.
  • IHG experience and knowledge of IHG operating systems are critical
  • Opera PMS knowledge
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Proven positive business development in previous hotels
  • Highly developed computer skills
  • Well organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently
  • Display initiative, perseverance, and analytical skills
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Professional and ethical
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Quick learner and hard worker
  • Team player and ability to get along with others

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
