This position is a Pay per visit compensation model.
Pay per visit ranges from $40- $65/ depending on type of visit.

Aliso Viejo , Capistrano Beach, Corona Del Mar , Costa Mesa , Dana Point , Irvine, Ladera Ranch, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Mission Viejo, Newport Beach, Newport Coast , Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Silverado, Trabuco Canyon

Qualifications*

*
Graduate of a physical therapy assistant school approved by the Council of Medical Education of the AMA in Association or its equivalent.

  • Licensed/registered to practice as a PTA in the state of practice.
  • Preferably at least one (1) year of experience as a PTA after obtaining licensure.
  • Possesses and maintains good physical stamina and mental health. Presents a pre-employment physician’s health clearance, including negative TB skin tests and/or CXR and other tests as required by specific state statute.
  • Has the ability to read and follow written instructions and accurately document care provided.
  • Is self-directing and has the ability to work with little direct supervision.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling the role obligations.
  • Demonstrates tact, patients, and good personal hygiene.
  • Is a licensed driver and has an automobile that is insured in accordance with Lorian Health (LORIAN) requirements.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate in the language of the client, or be able to use translation services provided by LORIAN, and document all client related activity practices.

Job Summary*

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is a qualified professional who administers physical therapy care to patients on an intermittent basis in the home of residence performed in accordance with physician orders and a plan of care under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist and Clinical Supervisor.

Responsibilities*

  • Understands and adheres to established LORIAN policies and procedures.
  • Helps to improve or minimize residual physical disabilities of patients assigned to PTA.
  • Providing treatment as ordered by the attending physician and under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Consults with Physical Therapist before any change in treatment.
  • Educates and instructs patients and family members in home programs for balance and gait training.
  • Observing, recording, and reporting information on the patient’s condition to the attending physician, supervising Physical Therapist, case manager, and in the patient’s health record.
  • Teaching and supervising other healthcare personnel when appropriate.
  • Evaluating the home environment and making appropriate recommendations.
  • Participating in in-service education programs.
  • Completes, maintains, and submits accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding patients/clients condition and care given in accordance with LORIAN policies and procedures.

Note: Documentation must be accurate, complete, and submitted to LORIAN before visit is deemed acceptable and payable to therapist.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
