Assistant General Manager/ Night Manager Job Description

We are looking for an experienced assistant general manager to lead and support our staff in serving our customers a great quality experience. Our Assistant General Managers also support the General Manager with developing and training our staff and Managers to ensure continued skills growth for each member of the team. You’ll gain experience with scheduling, ordering, and managing the financial details of the business on a day-to-day basis.

To be a successful assistant general manager, you should eagerly participate in educational and training opportunities. A top candidate must be able to motivate and positively influence staff, especially during times of low morale. For this position you must have strong leadership and organizational skills. The AGM should be firm, but also approachable. The assistant general manager should be experienced in a supervisory role, and be able to confidently deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives.

Assistant General Manager Responsibilities:

· Perform duties in the absence of the general manager

· Collaborating with the general manager and assisting with anything from project planning to staff management

· Building positive working relationships with staff

· Delegating daily tasks

· Addressing any issues in a timely fashion

· Supervising staff and controlling food and Labor

· Role Model, Setting a good example for staff

· Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations

· Provide solutions to issues (e.g., profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)

· Over see day to day operations

· Design Strategy and set goals for growth

Assistant General Manager Requirements:

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Experience in planning and budgeting
  • An ability to deliver constructive criticism.
  • Computer literate and basic Math skills, understand and has the ability to work with Excel
  • An ability to identify weaknesses and provide coaching where necessary
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Proven experience and an assistant manager or similar executive role

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
