Health Unit Technician

We are seeking a Health Unit Technician to:

• Join our world-class team of doctors, nurses and other health care professionals in providing everything from preventive health care to highly specialized programs.
• Provide quality care in a compassionate patient- and family- centered environment.
• Provide support to Nursing Unit, utilizing all necessary equipment and systems following established department procedures.
• Order and maintain supplies to provide an optimally functioning Unit.
• Establish and maintain a variety of complete, accurate and timely records for Unit according to established policies.
• Serve as a unit liaison with inter departmental communications.

Education:
Must provide copy of diploma/degree for highest level of education obtained.

Experience/Skills:

• Medical secretarial experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, organization and customer service skills required.
• Must be able to read, write legibly and communicate effectively in English.
• Strong phone etiquette skills required.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels within the organization and community under varied conditions.
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
• Basic knowledge of data entry skills preferred.
• Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Maintain Bi-annual CPR required.
• Completion of Sitter education, EKG, and Phlebotomy training.
  • Mother/Baby: EKG and Phlebotomy training are not applicable.
• CNA certification required.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, and carrying.

Pay:
SwedishAmerican offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Work experience that is relevant to the position will be taken into consideration when determining the starting base pay.
