Cornerstone Christian Academy is a non-denominational, Christ-centered K-8 school with accompanying early childhood learning center in Ossipee, New Hampshire. Our goal is to develop students to live out Biblical faith in every area including a rigorous academic environment, strong personal character and excellent preparation to fulfill their God-given potential and life goals.

We are seeking a headmaster firm in Christian faith and committed to growing students, staff and the institution according to Biblical principles as follows:

Personal Character & Demeanor

  • Christ-centered lifestyle and attitude including regular time in God’s word and prayerfulness (Titus 2:7-8a, 1 Thess. 5:17);
  • Interacts with others in a spirit of gentleness and humility and is a true “people person” (Eph. 4:2);
  • Firm understanding of and ability to clearly communicate God’s word in line with CCA statement of faith (Neh. 8:8);
  • Ability to deal with and resolve conflict in a Biblical manner (Matthew 5:23-25, 18:15-17; 1 Tim. 5:1; 2 Tim. 4:2);
  • Models punctuality, is well-organized, adaptable and flexible.

Faculty and Staff Leadership:

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with staff and is highly-visible throughout the school;
  • Exemplifies loving and encouraging interaction with students, faculty and staff;
  • Clearly and effectively communicates with Cornerstone faculty and staff, publicly and privately;
  • Works with faculty head to develop and maintain rigorous academic goals and plans, and ensures the implementation of essential curriculum and assessment;
  • Works with board of directors, faculty Chair, teachers and staff to develop effective faculty and staff leaders to make disciples of Christ;
  • Coordinates with early childhood learning center leadership to accomplish pre-K goals and transition pre-K students into K-8 students;
  • Empowers faculty chair and teachers to develop personally and professionally including flexibility with instructional styles, educational techniques and reasonable individual and collective staff decisions;
  • Consistently engages with board of directors, faculty and staff, soliciting and listening to their feedback, concerns and suggestions.

Family & Community Leadership:

  • Proactively develops and grows relationships with parents and extended families of students, staff and faculty;
  • Addresses parent concerns in a timely, proactive, and objective manner;
  • Demonstrates an awareness of and sensitivity to the diversity of our students and families;
  • Maintains a visible and active presence within the greater community;
  • Builds and grows relationships with area churches and pastors and collaborates effectively with these partners to strengthen the overall kingdom for Christ across greater Carroll County;
  • Consistently engages with community leaders and partners and serves as a passionate visible and vocal ambassador and advocate for Cornerstone Christian Academy within the community.

School Management & Administration:

  • Works to create an emotionally safe and inviting environment for students, staff, families, and guests;
  • Maintains a physically safe, clean and operationally-sound school;
  • Oversees and facilitates on-campus and off-campus events including assisting with volunteer recruitment, fundraising, location planning, etc.;
  • Collaborates with board of directors to lead and oversee fundraising efforts including local church support, public and private grants and other means of advancing the school’s near and long-term financial goals;
  • Collaborates with board of directors, faculty and staff to develop and maintain a master calendar and schedules;
  • Ensures school programs and procedures comply with state and ACSI guidelines.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution (preferably in educational and/or institutional leadership) or highly-qualified in relevant areas.

Experience:

  • Institutional and/or educational leadership;
  • Classroom experience preferred though not required;
  • Written assessment of subordinates including recommendations for personal and professional growth;
  • Demonstrated application of best educational and institutional practices;
  • Experience overseeing fundraising and volunteers preferred but not required.
