The Floor Coordinator/HDFCCC Facilities Support coordinates facility support services for faculty and staff from multiple departments working on the 6th and 7th floors of Mission Hall at the UCSF Mission Bay campus.

The Floor Coordinator/HDFCCC Facilities Support is the primary point of contact for all visitors on the floor and, as such, serves in an important administrative leadership capacity to provide service continuity in several areas.

Job duties include
  • staff receptionist function,
  • procurement of shared supplies and maintenance of office machinery,
  • financial recharge activities and
  • support for a wide variety of faculty and staff within the “neighborhood” setting of Mission Hall.

The successful candidate will use strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems, identify creative approaches to address varying needs from diverse groups, and, in general, act as a resource for occupants and liaison to UCPD, Facilities Services, Environmental Health and Safety, and Information Technology Field Services.

Additionally, this person will serve as administrative support for the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (HDFCCC). Facilities. Tasks will vary but will primarily focus on providing administrative support to the HDFCCC staff on the 6th and 7th floor and will also work with HDFCCC Facilities for all support activities and provide support for conference room calendars and bookings.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description

The UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (HDFCCC) holds the prestigious designation of “comprehensive” from the National Cancer Institute (NCI). We combine basic science, clinical research, epidemiology, cancer control and patient care throughout UCSF.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduation and four years of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing. This includes very senior executives inside and outside the organization.
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Advanced skills in Outlook, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher), Adobe Acrobat Pro and scanning software
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to take direction and work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management. Ability to research University policies, i.e., UCOP, campus, Academic Personnel Manual
  • Experience with budgeting and complex financial management
  • Prior UCSF procurement experience including the use of BearBuy and My Expense
