JOB DESCRIPTION

The Accountant will process daily accounting tasks. They will demonstrate good judgement in making timely and sound positions while maintaining, verifying, and updating various ledgers, spreadsheets, and databases. They will be an excellent addition to our accounting team and help American Eagle Ready Mix achieve team goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Track inventory receipts and resolve differences with production, reconcile receipts with vendors invoices, and reconcile inventory between databases.
  • Produce daily invoices for customers while ensuring accuracy with quoted pricing for each job.
  • Complete weekly bank reconciliations and monthly credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare analysis and adjustments for Company use of materials.
  • Assist with the preparation of general ledger reporting and analysis to ensure accounts are properly stated.
  • Ensure that accounting records are accurate and complete with ledgers closed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with reporting and compliance with state and local tax requirements in each location.
  • Assist with asset additions, disposals, and trades for capital expenditures.
  • Assist with plant-level and corporate-level special projects and implementation of new accounting standards, financial controls, etc.
  • Serve as back up for other team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related degree required.
  • 2+ years’ experience in accounting; audit experience desired.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and cost accounting principles.
  • High competency with accounting software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, superior organizational skills, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to act independently and prioritize responsibilities and tasks.
  • Ability to be agile in a fast-paced changing accounting and reporting environment.
