First Resources Corp. of Ottumwa is looking for a Gender Specific Life Skills Provider, offering flexible schedule options!

GSLS is grant program (contracted service county areas include; Wapello and Mahaska) that teaches Life Skills and Skill Development to female youth through individual, family and group sessions. GSLS Providers teach female youth the skills needed to manage their behaviors and to retain self-control so they can function appropriately at home, school, and in the community. GSLS Providers use directives and interventions provided in a community based environment that help female youth enhance interpersonal relationships, reduce law violations and prevent out of home placement. They also offer tools and techniques to the youth's family to enhance and maintain a supportive environment at home.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manages all aspects of self-scheduling to include regular, consistent, and punctual attendance to meet the needed assigned clients.
  • Provides and teaches life skills and skill development to female youth to help build skills to enhance relationships, reduce law violations and to prevent out of home placement. Facilitates individual, group and family sessions.
  • Completes Service Notes accurately within 24 hours of direct billable service (face to face time - Transportation time is not billable).
  • Completes all necessary file maintenance-monthly, yearly and periodic paperwork (electronic and paper) required to maintain an ongoing file audit to be in compliance.
  • Completes and maintains all necessary funding requests correctly and in a timely manner. Completes required Quarterly Reports.
  • Achieves minimum weekly direct service billing requirements. (Full-time requires18 direct service and 22 indirect service hours per week; less than full-time requirements will be prorated accordingly).
  • Uses office/indirect hours to maintain files, documentation, phone calls, collaborations, planning, and meetings etc. Markets the GSLS program in the community and to referral sources.
  • Communicates and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team members to maintain a cohesive support unit to best serve the clients as assigned.
  • Communicates and meets with direct supervisor; follows supervisor's instructions with regard to service delivery, documentation, FRC policy and procedures.
  • Attends and participates in all required departmental meetings and trainings as scheduled.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding individuals and families serviced by First Resources Corp and follows all HIPAA laws at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:

A service provision background is essential. Demonstrated ability to interact positively with others and have the desire to work with female youth with behavioral issues and their families.

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a human services/social sciences field is required.
