What we do:

Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is a program helping youth and families overcome challenging behaviors and preventing out-of-home placements. We believe all families want the best for themselves, and we offer support and structure that help families work better together and practice new skills that can lead to enduring change.


Who we serve:

We serve youth ages 11-18 who meet the following criteria:
  • Lives in community or ready to return
  • Family available
  • Has externalizing behaviors, internalizing symptoms/emotional needs, and/or substance abuse


What we are looking for:

A Social Worker to utilize the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) modality with clients involved with Department of Juvenile Justice. This program operates under the direction of the FFT model. The clinician will provide, at a minimum, weekly one-hour, home-based family therapy sessions to clients in the community. Clinician will utilize the FFT model with families who have adolescents between the ages of 11 and 18. Therapist will be required to carry a caseload of 10 to 15 families, providing services anywhere from eight to 26 weeks. This position requires flexibility in hours to meet families when they are available.

What you will need:

Must have master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field. Must be under supervision towards licensure (license-eligible) or licensed under LPC, LCSW, or related title, as approved by State of Virginia Licensing Board standards. Two to three years’ experience in providing clinical interventions, psychotherapy, and/or case management preferred.
