Job description
The Indy Lab is a new nursery and preschool program located in Elmsford, NY. The Indy Lab is a program based in developmental science that believes in using guided play and free play components to teach with the goal of building community, respect and independence among our students. Our morning schedule is composed of core segments called Playful Literacy, STEM and Drama and our afternoon is based on uninterrupted free play and outdoor/active play.
We are growing and looking for two strong teaching assistants to lead our three's and 4's and up classrooms. You will be responsible for assisting in set up and break down of rooms, helping the teacher with her prep duties, supervising and guiding children to their activities and classroom management.
An assistant teacher with a solid foundation in nursery and pre-k is a must along with a good understanding of child development. Coursework in child development and/or early education is strongly preferred.
Full-Time Schedule:
- 7:30am: Set up of room 3
- 8:00am: Before care
- 8:30am: Staff arrives and preps
- 9:00am: Huddle with team
- 9:30am: Arrivals
- 10:00am: Circle Time
- 10:15am: Snack
- 10:30am: Sports/Dance or Outdoor Time
- 11:00am: STEM
- 11:30am: Playful Literacy
- 12:00pm: Drama
- 12:15pm: Dismissal and/or Lunch (some children stay for lunch and dismiss at 1:15pm)
- 1:15pm: Outdoor or Indoor Active Play
- 1:45pm: Uninterrupted Free Play / 2's take nap
- 2:30pm: Outdoor or Indoor Active Play
- 3:05pm: Wash Hands and Pack Up
- 3:15pm: Dismissals
- 3:30pm: Breakdown room 3
- 4:00pm: Huddle

- Monday to Friday
COVID-19 considerations:
Employees must be double vaccinated and boosted. Vaccinations among children are highly encouraged. If a COVID + case is presented at school, children and employees must test for 3 days and wear masks.

License/Certification:
