The University of St. Paul is a premier private social, business, and recreational club. The Club's luxurious, unparalleled facilities include a dining room with a panoramic view of beautiful downtown St. Paul, as well as several elegant private rooms that are available for meetings, private events, and parties. Job Summary

It is this positions responsibility to deliver an excellent guest experience throughout our property. You will be asked to forecast, plan, and manage the restaurant. Train and schedule staff with a goal to maximize sales and revenue through imaginative, contemporary product offerings, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement.

This Manager is physically present on the restaurant floor to monitor the quality of the service and the food, while also building relationships with our members and creating an experience second to none. Customer service duties for this position include greeting customers, nourishing relationships with them, and resolving complaints. Maintaining a positive perception of The Company should be a driving factor in all guest interactions. To have an awareness of service load on our staff, and must be able to anticipate, and be flexible in the response to an accumulation of service demands. You will be asked to adhere to service standards and hold the staff accountable to them.

Requirements

· Proven experience as a manager

· Skilled in project management

· Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques

· Computer savvy; proficient in MS Office, Caterease, and be able to demonstrate an ability to adapt to new software environments

· Outstanding communication and negotiation ability

Essential Functions:

· Work closely with the General Manager and marketing firm to develop and coordinate initiatives.

· Plan, execute, and own membership events

· Report weekly activities and results via scorecard.

F&B Responsibilities

  • Creation and maintenance of beverage menus
  • Staff training: assist in leading the service team by attracting, recruiting, training and appraising talented personnel
  • Managing/ensuring the customer experience
  • Assist in the management of inventory and stock of all items needed for beverage items; responsible for ordering products for beverage items
  • Flawless execution of member and private events
  • Management of all service staff: servers, pool servers, back servers, banquet staff, bartenders, etc.
  • Management of labor costs and strategies
  • An awareness of cash flow and generally, the financial status of the facility
  • Management of hiring, scheduling and any other tasks associated with service personnel, including restaurant and events, as that staff will overlap
  • Assist with monitoring profit and loss margins
  • Assist with food expediting and service
  • Responsible for overall restaurant operation; manage all F&B and day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards
  • Preserve excellent levels of internal and external customer service
  • Design exceptional beverage menus, continuously make necessary improvements
  • Identify customer’s needs and respond proactively to all of their concerns
  • Recommend and propagate targets, KPI’s, schedules, policies, and procedures
  • Provide a two way communication and nurture an ownership environment with emphasis in motivation and teamwork
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations
  • Report to management regarding sales results and productivity
  • Management of banquet staff, banquet scheduling, liquor ordering, as well as occasional execution or banquet captain shifts

Requirements:

· Bachelors degree.

· A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in marketing and/or customer relationships.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

· Great attitude and “can-do” spirit.
