The Medical Eye Center is a doctor-owned ophthalmology practice that has served New Hampshire for over 40 years, offering cutting-edge and state-of-the-art technology to provide the best in patient care. We are seeking a receptionist/scheduler to join our established team. We offer on-the-job training and a competitive compensation package.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and vendors upon arrival to the office
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Make outgoing calls for co-managed appointments with outside doctors
  • Check patients in for appointments; verify insurance and demographic information at each visit, collect co-payments and patient balances
  • Copy/scan insurance cards and any other needed information
  • Field incoming calls as needed
  • Describe policies and procedures to new and established patients
  • Check out patients after they've seen the physician; schedule return visits as needed
  • Open and sort incoming mail and deliver to appropriate resources
  • Copy, scan, and mail documents and forms as needed
  • Assist with the copying of forms and keeping the front desk up to date
  • Attend and participate in staff and department meetings
  • Faxing office notes to referring physicians
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager

Qualifications:

  • Strong computer skills are necessary
  • Able to handle stressful situations
  • Able to prioritize tasks
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong secretarial skills
  • Strong telephone skills
  • Empathetic personality giving attention to patient's needs and concerns
  • Medical office experience (preferred but not required)
  • Willingness to cross-train in different areas
  • Willingness to travel to other office locations between Manchester, Bedford, and Nashua
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with physicians and other staff members
