JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to)

  • Proactive search and analyze new hotel opportunities, built or under construction, in the assigned area, for their incorporation into the Company in the franchise or management mode, always in accordance with the strategic plan set by area.
  • Negotiations with internal partners (particularly the Sales VP and Franchise Director) on each project and feasibility analysis.
  • Functional key contact within the assigned Franchise Business Development area.
  • Internal presentation of the projects that are considered viable for approval and definition of the next steps.
  • Prioritization of projects in accordance with the strategy set by the Vice President of Development based on the strategic expansion plan.
  • In accordance with the negotiation policy established for each project: (i) direct management of negotiations with the owners, until their closure and/or (ii) support for negotiations led by the Development Director.
  • Preparation of the necessary documentation for the approval of projects before the Expansion Committee.
  • Create a strong network of contacts in the assigned area to promote growth according to the expansion map.
  • Constant market analysis of the assigned area for the purpose of detecting potential growth markets and boosting the growth of brands based on the strategic growth plan.
  • Be the Representative of the company by participating in Fairs and other Events of Tourism and Hotel Industry on behalf of Meliá Hotels International that are relevant to the assigned area. Participate in forums, make company presentations to external agents to attract new projects; participate in project presentation meetings, be a participant in meetings and conferences to present destinations or informative sessions of the assigned area.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (to do this kind of work, candidate must possess/be able to)

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Hotel and Tourism or Law.
  • Broad knowledge of Presentations and Negotiations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in positions with content in negotiation and closing processes
  • Work in a multinational environment, preferably in hotel companies, agencies, tour operators, or real estate agencies or consultants specialized in the hotel sector, which allows specific knowledge of key success factors for a hotel (location, economic magnitudes...)
  • Experience in positions with access to a network of contacts and owners, investors or hotel operators

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally in English and Spanish. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
