Job description

Supervises subordinate staff personnel. Responsible for the overall management and operation of the contract. Acts on the company’s behalf in all on-site related contract decisions. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, government contracts, and the applicable federal and state laws.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Oversee the day-to-day operations at the institution-style/cafeteria-style facility.

· Plan for and purchase food for food service program.

· Ensure food in storage meets adequate levels of nutrition and sustenance.

· Maintain required records including food production, inventory, income/expense, meal counts and personnel records.

· Ensure program follows proper sanitation procedures.

· Preside over food service employees, including cooks, food preparers, mess attendants, and other employees.

· Ensure safety standards are maintained while food is being cooked.

· Plan menus; Prepare and serve the food.

· Respond to customer preferences and complaints.

· Plan and budget for future meals.

· Maintain equipment, including refrigerators, stoves, and microwaves.

· Hire, recruit, and train employees.

· Direct the cleaning of the dining area and kitchen including the utensils.

· Maintain employee records, prepare payroll, and complete paperwork to comply with laws and regulations.

· Keep records of supplies and purchases.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Three to five years proven experience in large volume food service operations or credited military experience in a senior foodservice management position, (grade E-8 or above), and completion of a senior level military foodservice management school.

· Degree from a recognized university or a college level culinary degree.

· Proven experience in personnel and operational management. Sanitation certification from an accredited institution.

· The ability to analyze, and interpret contractual documents, financial and payroll reports, and government regulations.

· The ability to respond to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or government personnel.

· Computer (software and hardware) literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft business and E-Mail applications.

· Familiar with employee management, grievance procedures and negotiations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
