SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
This is an on-call position that takes dedication, hard work, initiative, time & energy. Your hours will be determined by your availability in a set spring and summer schedule, as well as extra opportunities for private corporate groups throughout the year.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires instructors to lead groups of various sizes in a variety of fitness classes we offer at the resort. Our current offerings include but are not limited to: Beach Boot Camp, Yoga on the Beach, Sunrise Yoga, Moonlit Yoga, Aqua Yoga, and Aqua Bootcamp.
Guest service and resort standards

• Provide excellent customer service.
• Direct and answer questions or resolve concerns that our guests may have in a courteous and professional manner.
• Develop a friendly rapport with guests.
• Determine and anticipate guests’ needs and strive to meet those needs.
• Administer and ensure adherence to department and resort standards.

Departmental

• To provide group fitness lessons for social events any resort guests on various fitness levels.
• Demonstrate how to carry out various exercises and routines.
• Watch clients perform various exercises and show or tell them correct techniques to minimize injury and improve fitness, if needed.
• Give alternative exercises during workouts or classes for different levels of fitness, or skill if needed.
• Give emergency first aid, if needed
• All other duties, as assigned.

Administrative

• Complete check-in and check-out procedures for lessons and events.
• Responsible for set-up and break-down of group fitness classes.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & JOB SKILLS
The Recreation Fitness instructor must have previous experience in a fitness instructor setting. First Aid and CPR certifications are required, a yoga certification is encouraged. Leadership and strong communication skills are required. This position entails many skills; patience, strong enthusiasm, motivational towards guests.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. as well as have the endurance to do continuous physical activity.
EXPECTED SCHEDULE AND AVALIABILITY NEEDS
Weeks that we would need to have you available for include: Spring: April 1st–May 1st and Summer: May 24th - September 4th

• In coordination with Program Manager and other fitness instructors, fitness calendar can be created to fit the personal schedules of our fitness instructors.*
