Description:

Average Day: Daily scrum @9am. Where are you with your tasks/goals. Work with the teams to engage or troubleshoot Dive into development, writing code, building, deploying, troubleshooting, debugging. Some software development vs. hardware in the office. Weekly development discussion – problem areas, system issues, what interfaces are needed. Key Responsibilities (from posting) End-to-End Design and Development of embedded solutions Collaboration in an Agile firmware development team using scrum processes Drive firmware quality by using early defect discovery and removal Analyze acceptance criteria and provide estimates of effort. Troubleshooting and issue resolution of embedded firmware / embedded software solutions in a sustaining engineering environment

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in engineering related discipline strongly preferred, open to applicable experience without degree 5+ years professional experience Experience working in embedded Linux Prior working experience with C++ Ability to read schematics Comfortable working with Hardware, debugging, familiarity with tools including oscilloscopes, logic analyzer etc. **Additional Qualifications/Changes to Skills Needed** • Combination of HWE & SWE - still view this as Firmware/Embedded-SW Engr, just clarifying the need for both HW and SW skills • Ability to speak to industrial instrumentation architecture (not just overall computer architecture) • Ability to read HW schematic • Ability to code low-level HW interfaces • Understanding protocols (including: I2C, SPI, UART, MODBUS, USB, Ethernet, etc…) • Ability to code/Demonstrate competency in C++
