The Field Construction Manager is important to the success of Armstrong’s key strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for fiber optic builds of aerial and underground fiber optic plant including strand, fiber, over lash and conduit placement.

What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll do a lot of great things in this role and have the opportunity to expand into other areas, but the key responsibilities you can expect to perform on a regular basis include:
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other construction specialists to ensure efficiency, timely completion, and customer satisfaction of construction projects.
  • Participate in contractor selection and help ensure work is of high quality and on track.
  • Understand pertinent licenses and permits, confer with city or county inspectors when required, and ensure compliance of legal requirements, company regulations, and safety codes are met.
  • Ensure projects are fully staffed and when needed, resolve work delays or other variances
  • 30% day travel, 30% overnight travel
What Sets You Apart:
  • Minimum of 5-years telecommunications experience related to aerial and underground fiber construction, and related utility make-ready work
  • Familiarity with Overhead Electric Line Construction, NESC standards, and Public Right of Way experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering preferred, but not required if relevant experience
  • Expert knowledge of construction details, relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process including construction management tools
