Join us as a Fiduciary Tax Administrator
Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Fiduciary Tax Administrator to join our Trust Company Fiduciary Tax Services Team. In this role you will support the preparation, and tax vendor oversight, of all necessary tax returns for Brown Brothers Harriman Trust Company client accounts. You will be responsible for filing of tax returns (paper and efile) and the processing of payments (epay and checks.) You will ensure all required filings are made by all due dates by maintaining control of the client master list. You will liaise with Relationship Managers, Trust Officers and Multi-Family Office clients, in connection with the preparation of tax returns, payment of taxes and other tax matters.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
Tax Preparation:
  • Support the preparation of federal and state estate, fiduciary, individual and other tax returns for BBH Trust Company accounts
  • Research tax payment problems and maintain refund controls
  • Understand the portfolio accounting system and tax coding so that accurate information bridges to tax vendors.
  • Maintain records and information pertinent to taxes and trust accounts
  • Escalate technical tax issues to senior tax leadership, as appropriate
  • Answer tax notices where appropriate
  • Process tax payments and file tax returns via e-file or mail
Vendor Support:
  • Review and audit tax returns prepared by vendors as to tax payments
  • Resolve tax preparer questions with TOs/RMs, as appropriate
  • Escalate issues with vendors to senior tax leadership, as appropriate
  • Ensure vendors comply with agreed upon contract terms and BBH standards, policies, and compliance requirements
Qualifications:
  • BA or Equivalent preferred
  • Ability to articulate basic tax information
  • Working knowledge of portfolio accounting and related systems
  • Knowledge of tax payment processes and tax return filing
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of OneSource Trust Tax, ProSystem and AddVantage is a plus but not required

BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $95,000 to $100,000, which is specific to New York, NY and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
