ERSEA (Eligibility) Coordinator

Under the supervision of the ERSEA Manager, the ERSEA (eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, attendance) coordinator's primary function is to ensure that enrollment is at capacity and compliant with State and Federal program regulations.


RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES :(including but not limited to):

    • Understand, interpret and explain federal, state, and city child care eligibility criteria, policies, and procedures
    • Work with families from the point of application and intake to the program and throughout their enrollment
    • Work closely with Center Supervisors and Family Advocates to identify and fill enrollment gaps at sites
    • Determine family's eligibility for child care programs using contract requirements
    • Ensure processing of applications on a timely basis and assign priority points according to approved criterion priority guidelines
    • Assist staff and families on issues concerning certification and appropriate income verification
    • Travel to and from program sites/homes to conduct enrollments, monitor, and attend meetings as necessary.
    • Create and maintain application folders for each applicant by ensuring that all relevant documents are correctly and immediately included in the file, and that all conversations are documented in the file logs.
    • Enter and maintain current family information into the database.
    • Participate in health fairs, meetings, and other community events at on-site or off-site locations
    • Monitoring of application processing.
    • Monitors and maintains daily inventory activity on enrollments, dis-enrollments, and ensures enrollment activities are processed.
    • Address and resolve ERSEA activity related complaints in response to applicants and official inquiries.
    • Provide on-going direction and guidance to staff.
    • Provide training to department staff to ensure compliance with pertinent regulations, as deemed necessary.
  • - Prepare correspondence related to dis- enrollments, referrals and other related notifications in a timely manner.
    • Translation of English forms to Spanish as needed
    • Adhere to SCF’s Written Safety Program including attending safety training sessions, reporting accidents/incidents per company procedures, and participating in maintaining a safe working environment including occasional participation in cleaning up accidents, spills, body fluids, or other safety concerns as directed by Management or Administration.

    • Other tasks/activities as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS: :
    • Must be able to work for long periods of time while maintaining concentrated attention to detail.
    • Must be able to sit at a table or desk for long periods of time with occasional standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, stooping or squatting to navigate the classroom and office environments
    • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 50 pounds with or without material handling equipment
    • Must have the manual dexterity to use office equipment including but not limited to a copier, computer keyboard, or phone keypad
    • Must have the ability to hear and speak face to face, over the telephone or in virtual meetings
    • Must be able to drive a personal or company vehicle for off-site meetings and/or events as directed by management or administration
    • Must be able to travel infrequently by car for job requirements in and around the Las Vegas area (including but not limited to Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas, Pahrump, and Laughlin)
    • Must pass random drug/alcohol testing and maintain a drug-free workplace

QUALIFICATIONS: :
    • Education & Work Experience:
      • High school graduate or equivalent is required
      • Three (3) years family/community service work experience is necessary
    • Skills & Abilities:
      • Knowledge of Community Resources and Referrals.
      • Knowledge of Head Start Policies and Procedures Performance Standards
      • A valid Driver’s License and maintain throughout the duration of employment
      • 2 years or more of a clean DMV record.
      • At least 21 years old (per insurer’s guidelines)
      • Be approved by SCF insurer to be added to corporate auto insurance policy for company vehicle coverage
      • Maintain personal auto insurance policy for personal vehicle operated on company business and furnish proof of insurance when requested.
      • Able to accurately type.
      • Good working knowledge of English, grammar, punctuation, spelling style, etc.
      • Ability to operate standard office machines such as computers, tablets, printers, copiers, etc.
      • Basic to Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook) programs.
      • Answer telephones and greet the public in a friendly and courteous manner.
      • Must have the ability to perform assigned duties with a minimum of supervision; identify problems and recommend solutions; interpret and apply policies and procedures within limits of authority.
      • Interact with supervisors, officials, employees, and the public using tact and discretion
      • Maintain a positive, open and objective attitude towards others including volunteers and interns
      • Willing to engage, support, include and work with volunteers and/or interns on an on-going or as needed basis
      • Speak in a clear and understandable manner and write legibly using the English language is a requirement.
      • Maintain highly confidential nature of incoming paperwork is a requirement.
      • Obtain a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Work Card (Sheriff’s Card) and a North Las Vegas Work Card (Sheriff’s Card) for Child Care prior to hire date and maintain for duration of employment
      • Submit negative TB results (One-Step Skin Test or Chest X-Ray) prior to hire date and duration of employment
      • Must have a physical performed and document submitted prior to hire date and maintain for duration of employment
      • Acquire CPR/First Aid Training for Infant/Child/Adult within ninety (90) days of hire date and maintain through duration of employment
      • Pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing and maintain a drug-free workplace
      • Must have obtained the COVID-19 vaccine and be fully vaccinated prior to starting employment with Sunrise Children’s Foundation.
    • Preferred:
      • Bilingual (English-Spanish) speaking and writing skills preferred.
      • At least 25 years old to drive program participant including families w/small children to off-site or on-site events as needed (per insurer’s guidelines)
