H IGH REACH OPERATORS & FORKLIFT OPERATORS
1st & 2nd Shifts

POSITION DESCRIPTION
High Reach Operator and Forklift Operators responsible for a variety of distribution duties including receiving of products and materials and picking orders for customer fulfillment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepared and complete orders for delivery according to schedule (pick, pack, wrap, label, load and ship) typically using appropriate forklift – High Reach / Reach Truck
  • Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store, stage) typically using appropriate forklift
  • Ensures work is completed using the most efficient flow to optimize output
  • Ensures accurate counts and processes through the RF scan gun
  • Reports any discrepancies
  • Unloads and moves product from container to designated locations utilizing appropriate equipment
  • Assists distribution center as needed; communicates with co-workers and supervision
  • Follows quality service standards and complies with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Performs forklift inspection for operating efficiency and safety
  • Actively participates in Hopkins Safety Programs, such as Safety & PIE help desks, behavior -based safety audits, safe work cards and reports all near misses and first aid events.
  • Maintains a clean and organized working environment
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous forklift experience required
  • High Reach experience preferred
COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
  • Forklift certification from Hopkins will be required
  • Communication skills (must be able to understand all written and verbal work orders and instructions)
  • Must be very safety and quality conscious
  • Ability to work well in a team setting
  • Ability to unload containers safely and efficiently in pre-determined time allotment
  • Work history should demonstrate safety, efficiency, flexibility and willingness to learn
  • Organizational skills (must be able to keep track of inventory and keep work area clean)

Work Environment: Work conditions are consistent with a warehouse environment. Frequent exposure to warehouse operations requires the understanding and use of required PPE applicable to that environment. The ability to tolerate extreme temperatures while working in the warehouse environment is a requirement. Low impact repetitive motions are frequent and must be physically tolerated. The employee must be able to meet the physical requirements of standing for 8 hours on a concrete surface and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
