Environmental Scientist – Tampa, FL
Halff has an open position for an Environmental Scientist at our Tampa, FL location.
Our team of environmental scientists offers expertise in natural resources impact analysis and permitting as well as environmental due diligence investigations for a wide variety of clients and locations. The appropriately qualified applicant will need to demonstrate a willingness to join an established team of professionals and contribute to the success of that team. This position will assist with the collection and preparation of information as it pertains to the local, state, and federal regulation of natural resources. There will be an emphasis on field work as it pertains to wetland delineations, habitat assessments, and general plant surveys, supporting all Halff offices. A qualified applicant must be able to work in adverse weather conditions and capable of, at times, strenuous field work.

Qualification:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in biology, natural resources management, or related field. Master's Degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in collection and preparation of information as it pertains to the local, state, and federal regulation of natural resources
- FWC Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent
- ISA Certified Arborist
- Wetland evaluations including delineations, impact mitigation design, restoration and permitting
- Threatened and Endangered Wildlife Species surveys, permitting and relocation
- Strong knowledge of relevant aspects of transportation, water resources, and land development industries
- Proficiency with ArcGIS and GPS technology
- Capable of providing support to multi-disciplinary teams in delivering solutions to clients
- Excellent research, analytical, written and oral communication skills, with experience communicating with the public
- Positive attitude, initiative, and ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed
