Owens Corning Minneapolis is currently hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator!
This hourly position provides administrative level support to the Minneapolis Roofing and Asphalt facility to support a strong, proactive safety culture through an effective, efficient, and compliant safety process.
A day in the life of an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator would include:
- Completing routine inspections as required to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
- Maintaining all environmental regulations, requirements, and documentation
- Develop and implement safety training for the manufacturing facility, including new employee safety onboarding and annual recertification.
- Consistently communicate safety related items and best practices.
- Leads audits, investigations, & inspections as required and ensures follow up items are complete.
- Manage plant personal protection equipment (PPE) distribution across the facility.
- Actively support the mission of zero injuries through the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies.
- Implement and maintain 5S principles in direct areas of responsibility, including safety office, hazardous waste areas, safety storage areas, and PPE dispense machines.
An ideal candidate would be:
- Motivated and proactive in support the company's mission to eliminate injuries and incidents in the manufacturing facility.
- A dood understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to apply the principals of TPM.
- An expert in interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, listening, coaching, delegation, and conflict management and resolution.
- Have the ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment.
- Have excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
A strong candidate must have:
- Completed High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing or maintenance operations environment is strongly preferred.
- Experience in safety and environmental practices is strongly preferred.
