Mental Health Group Therapist

THIRA Health seeks a full-time Group Therapist. The ideal candidate will possess excellent administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills. He/she/they must be organized, proactive, flexible, a team player, and be capable of delivering evidence-based treatment for eating disorders, anxiety disorders and depression in an intensive and fast-paced mental health treatment environment.
Job Requirements:
- Lead a variety of PHP and IOP psychoeducational and process groups including: DBT Skills Training, DBT Homework Review, Body Acceptance, CBT Strategies, Mindfulness, Community, Arts & Crafts, Community Engagement Group, Structure & Skills Planning, Tutoring/Vocation, and Family DBT Skills Training & Support Groups
- Provide supportive and DBT-skill based milieu intervention to patients, promoting application and generalization of DBT skills
- Deliver crisis intervention services inclusive of suicide risk assessment and management, creating safety plans, de-escalating dysregulated patients, and mediating conflicts between patients
- Supervise patients during breaks and mealtimes (snacks, lunch, and dinner daily)
- Facilitate adolescent patient tutoring group, encouraging structured use of this time and assisting patients as needed with school and/or vocation-related activities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including other mental health therapists, prescribing clinicians, registered dieticians (RD), nursing staff, in comprehensive treatment and care planning
- Use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to complete all clinical documentation in a timely manner
- Join and contribute to the THIRA DBT Consultation Team
- Utilize EMR to complete all required clinical documentation in a timely manner
Required Experience:
- Masters in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related therapy field
- Requires a Washington State provisional license (LICSWA, LMHCA, LMFTA,) or license-eligible if out-of-state
- Experience providing individual, group, and/or family therapy from a behavioral orientation (internship/practicum experience OK to count towards this minimum)
- Crisis Management experience required
