Duties and Responsibilities

Network and collaborate with external employers to coordinate advocacy for refugees’ employment. Draft, develop, and distribute creative and engaging content for Alliance’s website, blog, and email newsletter to educate the public and raise awareness of Alliance's resettlement activities related to job placement of refugees.

Foster relationships with community employers and coalitions focused on refugee employment issue areas; participate in and represent organization at online and in-person events; identify opportunities to support or sponsor community partner activities focused on job placement. Such as establishing MOUs with employers for placing refugees and address refugees' shortcomings while working such as establishing ESL classes, job training, extra.

Support other Communications & Marketing projects as needed to advance the goal of job placement of the refugees.

This position generally describes the principal functions of the position, the level of knowledge and skills typically required to network with employers and encourage job placement of refugees. Individuals will perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, plus 2 – 3 years of work experience in networking with employers, job development, marketing, case management

· Ability to build relationships and foster strong partnerships with a diverse range of local employer.

· Organized and detail oriented, project management experience preferred.

· Ability to travel for meetings and events throughout San Diego Counties

· Able to work as part of a team and independently.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Committed to Alliance's mission to assist refugees to assimilate and establish financial independence.

Continuously exchanges information through listening and talking with refugees, other staff, employers, representatives of community organizations and other individuals in the community.

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
