PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION - Constellation Power Labs - Lab Technician – Electrical

Responsible for performing all levels of tests, test setups, data collection and/or data analysis using recognized methodologies based upon a combination of experience and written instructions. This role is also responsible for acting as a resource for Lab Tech I and Lab Tech II questions and development.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develops and maintains proficiency of complex tests, analysis or methodologies as assigned. Develops sound conclusions and writes reports of project results.
  • Maintains accurate records of testing and analytical work performed including required traceability on equipment utilized. Computes, analyzes and records test data
  • Interacts with vendors on technical problems relating to assigned work
  • Make recommendations or improvements on procurement of components, systems, spare parts, portable test equipment requirements, work scheduling, training, etc.
  • Performs other team tasks when assigned.
  • Travels regionally to perform field testing work as assigned to various internal and external customer sites
  • Flexibility to work extended hours beyond past normal core hours to support internal and external customers including regional and local travel up to approximately 25% or more with some overnight travel as required based on business needs.

POSITION SCOPE
Technician work will encompass one or more of the following activities: conduct Electrical and Instrument/Controls (I&C) testing protocols, including the development of such protocols.

Additional Assessment Criteria include the following:

  • Demonstrated successful leadership, drive for continuous improvement, versatile team member, and strong communication skills
  • Strong safety performance and engagement in the safety program over the previous year.

Technical Services

  • Previous experience or demonstrated ability to manage projects and resources for Testing and Analysis
  • Ability to work with customers to develop project test plans, quotes, and proposals for Testing and Analysis
  • Ability and qualifications to establish and approve test and acceptance criteria
  • Proficient in developing and executing effective troubleshooting plans and failure analysis
  • Proficient in managing project schedule and budget
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse project teams (customer and peers) to produce valued results
  • A proven and valued technical expert in several areas.
  • Must be able to review and approve quality test reports
  • Ability to author procedures for technical activities and quality processes

Expected salary range of $68.400 - $76,000 per year, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401k.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates degree, or 60 credits toward a BS degree in a technical field, or PMEL training (no experience required), or a high school degree with a minimum of six years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in equipment calibration and/or testing and analysis
  • Demonstrated aptitude in chemical, electrical, mechanical or metallurgical testing, analysis or calibrations or basic engineering principles
  • Ability to gain unescorted access to Exelon Nuclear Stations
  • Good oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nuclear plant experience or Radiation protection experience
  • Metrology or related education via VoTech, military or associate degree in technical area
