Summary:

· The main function of a design technician is to prepare detailed drawings of architectural and structural features of buildings or drawings and topographical relief maps used in civil engineering projects, such as highways, bridges, and public works. A typical design technician utilizes knowledge of building materials, engineering practices, and mathematics to complete drawings.

Job Responsibilities:

· This position is responsible for providing checking and releasing services for complex engineering CAD models, drawings, and notices. This position assures that the engineering changes and releases of piece parts, assemblies, groups, and arrangement level components are reviewed for completeness of information, accuracy and conformance to Client Corporate Product and Process Standards and Specifications. This position assures that newly designed parts will function properly when assembled, checks the accuracy and placement of dimensions, and assures the proper use of tolerances. This position is responsible for providing high-quality collaboration with engineering clients on opportunities identified for improvement or suggested changes regarding the contributor's review of the CAD models, drawings, and notices.

Skills:

Technical Skills:

· CAD Modeling/Drafting skills preferably in CREO, extensive knowledge of Client Corporate Product and Process Standards, manufacturing, assembly and inspection process knowledge and strong GD&T knowledge and application

skills.

Soft Skills:

· The contributor will require strong collaboration and communication skills. The contributor needs to be self-motivating and be able to perform work in a timely manner. The contributor will need to be able to review current workload and anticipate the need for additional tasks for work continuity.

Education/Experience:

· B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and 1-3+ years Engineering Design experience

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

· Provide Checking and Releasing support to NPI, CPI, Production engineering teams

Typical task breakdown:

· Review Engineering Design drawings, models, notices to Client Engineering Standards. Collaborate with Engineering designers on areas of opportunity to improve quality defects.

Education & Experience Required:

· B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and 1-3+ years Engineering Design experience
