Description
The Cabinet for Economic Development is the primary state agency encouraging job creation, retention and business investment in Kentucky. The Cabinet works to attract new industries to Kentucky, assists existing companies to grow and expand, and provides support and resources for entrepreneurs, startups and small business owners.
The Compliance Division within the Department for Financial Services is looking to hire an Economic Development Rep 1.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
The Compliance Division within the Department for Financial Services is looking to hire an Economic Development Rep 1.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Communicates with businesses and entrepreneurs, both new and existing industries in Kentucky, to monitor economic development projects and provide opportunities for assistance along with appropriate notifications regarding the status of active economic development projects with assistance from senior staff and management oversight.
- Be responsible be a Compliance/Record custodian for the Cabinet’s compliance division. This includes hardcopy and electronic file document storage.
- Evaluates and reviews project opportunities, financial documentation, incentive agreement metrics and project reporting/monitoring for compliance with program requirements, agreements, regulations, and statutes with assistance of Senior Staff and management oversight
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in industrial development, economics, research, graphic design, economic development, business administration, marketing, communications, public relations, accounting, finance, compliance, or a related field will substitute for the required college on a year for year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Work typically involves extensive contact with the public. Travel may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
