DSHS Food Service Worker

You'll serve and prepare regular and therapeutic meals in a hospital setting at Eastern State Hospital (ESH), an in-patient psychiatric hospital, located in Medical Lake, Washington. We have a variety of shifts and schedules available!

Here is some of what you will do:

  • Prepare, dish, and serve food following therapeutic dietary guidelines, recipes, and menus
  • Deliver food carts with insulated food trays to the wards
  • Dishwashing and floor cleaning using the appropriate equipment
  • Clean, wash and sanitize kitchens and dining rooms
  • Implement and follow food safety standards
  • Assist in training new employees as needed
  • Actively work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment


Who we are looking for

Professionals with the following:

  • A current Washington State Food Worker Card or ability to obtain a Food Worker Card within 14 days of employment
  • Experience in applying food safety regulations
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and special diet needs
  • Ability to prepare and serve food according to therapeutic dietary orders, recipes, and menus
  • Excellent customer service
