Job description
The Bottineau (ND) Ambulance Service District is hiring for two fulltime drivers. The incumbent is responsible for operation of ambulances, lifting and moving of patients, and assisting in patient care as directed by an EMT or Paramedic.
The successful candidate for this position will hold a valid driver's license in North Dakota; be capable of working in austere conditions; and be capable of lifting 75lbs by themselves, 150lbs with a partner. EMR, EMT, or AEMT certification is preferred but not required. All additional required training will be provided.
About the District
The Bottineau Ambulance Service District is a rural ambulance district located in north central North Dakota, providing the Bottineau, Mchenry, and Rollette counties as well as Lake Metigoshe and Bottineau Winter Park with ambulance services. The district operates four ambulances and one quick response unit out of 2 stations, with a separate quick response unit based out of the Bottineau Winter Park.
About the Position
As a full time driver you will be assigned to an ambulance with either an EMT or Paramedic partner. You will be responsible for the operation of the ambulance in response to and transport from both emergency and non-emergency calls for service. You will report directly to your partner and subsequently the General Manager.
The shift for this position is 72 hours (3 days) on, 144 hours (6 days) off. During this time you may be away from the station contingent on meeting a 5 minute response time to the station. If you cannot meet this 5 minute response time, you must be housed in station.
The pay for this position is $17-20 per hour depending on experience. BASD provides health, vision, and dental insurance; 401k with a match; uniform reimbursement; and continuing education.
