BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The purpose of this position is to assist the Sr. Manager, Parts Distribution by utilizing subordinate staff and available company resources to ensure a high level of customer service/ dealer satisfaction, warehouse productivity, operating efficiency, quality assurance and cost containment. These objectives are achieved in part by the exploration, development and implementation of new and improved concepts, processes and practices in all areas of the warehouse.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines:
  • Ensure daily warehouse assignments, work activities and special projects are carried out by warehouse personnel in a timely and accurate manner to achieve performance results and distribution center (DC) business objectives.
  • Achieve and preserve a high level of customer service/dealer satisfaction by ensuring all warehouse objectives are consistently maintained.
  • Motivate DC staff, measuring performance and interpreting data to ensure all performance standards are achieved and maintained.
  • Oversee daily activities to include, but not limited to receiving, packaging, put away, picking, consolidation, shipping, replenishment, inventory control, returns processing and all other DC related activities.
  • Assist Sr. Manager, Parts Distribution to schedule, monitor and track employee attendance, ETO, Holidays, etc.
  • Assist the Parts & Wholegoods Warehouse Manager in the performance review process for warehouse staff, contributing valuable input into and/or the writing of annual performance evaluations.
  • Provide training and development for new warehouse employees and/or temporary workers with applicable DC procedures and practices.
  • Attend/participate in business conferences and meetings as requested to expand knowledge base and awareness of key business developments.
  • Participate in and share operational budgetary suggestions with Sr. Manager, Parts Distribution.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement with willingness to challenge existing norms to discover innovative ideas that result in incremental or dramatic process improvement.
  • Share ideas and technology with colleagues and internal groups.
  • Additional duties assigned by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School/GED or equivalent, plus 2 years technical training.
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of logistics and warehousing procedures including, but not limited to receiving, packaging, put away, replenishment, inventory control processes, picking, shipping, returns processing, business applications, barcode systems, material handling equipment, hazardous materials handling, labor and productivity management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a thorough, working knowledge of forklift, reach truck, order selector and other power equipment.
EQUIPMENT OPERATION (% of time, description, nature of service):
  • Thorough working knowledge of forklift, reach truck, order selector and other power equipment.
  • Office equipment including computer, copier, printer, telephone and fax machines.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires standing and walking for long periods of time or sitting and working on computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to cope in a challenging, fast-paced environment is required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Customer service/dealer satisfaction skills are also required.
