Job Description:
Directly responsible for managing day to day operations of Business Services/First Connections (comprised of Registration Department, Financial Counselors Department and Stem Cell and outside neurologists' financial clearance) performed by the department including: an error free verification process during registration, patient friendly upfront collections, and easily accessible financial assistance programs. Provides leadership and immediate supervision of Patient Financial Services Supervisor and the Financial Advocate team and indirect supervision of the Patient Access Representative team. Makes decisions of acceptance for exception cases, using historic reimbursement details, single case negotiations, re-verification of insurance benefits, and plan summary or policy book review.

Develops/implements strategic plans driving the department's goals. Responsible for annual budget preparation/recommendation. Participates and or leads special projects to drive new innovations and strategic initiatives.

Manages and develops current talent bench and actively seeks to acquire new talent when needed. Collaborates and manages relationships with business and clinical stakeholders, vendors, industry peers and leaders. Has a strong working knowledge of hospital operations and priorities, RCM front and back-office operations as they relate to Business Services/First Connections.

In addition to COH Chicago, also indirectly oversees the Professional Corporations and OCCs associated with COH Chicago.

Keeps current on legislative and industry changes that may assist patients or create an avenue of exception that will allow a patient to receive services. Maintains knowledge of all payer contracts, and reimbursement history.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Minimum 5+ years of successful business analysis and project management experience, A/R process experience in a hospital or physician healthcare setting, such as contract management, insurance and self-pay billing/collections, insurance verification, finance or registration functions with a focus on strategic thinking.

Minimum 5+ years of leadership/management experience is desired.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent presentation skills

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and build consensus in a high-pressure environment

Pay Range
$98,166.43 - $161,616.00

Placement within the identified pay range is based on individual and market factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, credentials (including licenses and certifications), geographic location, market competition, skill set (including market availability of required skills), assigned/anticipated job tasks, and level of responsibility. These factors are considered without regard to an individual's status as a member of any protect group pursuant to federal, state, and/or local law.
