Potential is a non-profit organization serving individuals with Autism across the lifespan. We're an established, thriving organization that is expanding to serve new clients. Direct Support Professionals (DSP)
work with adults with Autism in Newtown and the surrounding community. DSPs help adults with disabilities to reach their full potential by teaching communication skills, assisting with activities of daily living, reducing behaviors that interfere with quality of life, promoting independence, and integrating clients into the home and community. Services take place in private homes and the community, NOT in a group home or residential care facility.


DSP Schedule Options


Option 1 (Monday - Friday):

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays - 8:30 am - 3 pm

Wednesdays and Fridays - 9 am - 3 pm

(approximately 31.5 hours per week total)


Schedule Option 2 (Monday - Wednesday):

Mondays & Tuesdays - 8:30 am - 3 pm

Wednesdays - 8:30 am - 1 pm

(approximately 18.5 hours per week total)


Schedule Option 3 (Wednesday - Friday):

Wednesdays and Fridays - 9 am - 3 pm

Thursdays -8:30 am - 3 pm

(approximately 17.5 hours per week total)


We have immediate openings!
Training starts after an offer is made and all mandatory clearances have been submitted and reviewed.


Job Responsibilities

  • Work with adults (21 years of age and older) with varying service needs
  • Implement individual service plan goals and behavior support plan
  • Maintain participant safety and confidentiality
  • Complete service notes and Electronic Verification Visitation Appointments accurately
  • Daily data collection


Job Requirements

  • High School diploma required
  • Must pass required background checks
  • Ability to transport participants in your personal vehicle
    • Must have up-to-date license, registration, and car insurance
  • Be able to engage with the participant you're supporting

  • Professional Reference Check
  • Job Offer - if applicable, an offer is extended after your interview and professional reference check have been completed
  • Clearances - mandatory clearances are obtained after signing an offer letter
  • Training - start training after clearances have been obtained and processed
